Even in blowouts there are a half a dozen opportunities for a team to stop the bleeding...but they rarely take advantage of any of them.

Yesterday, starting about halfway thru the third quarter, the Seahawks started taking advantage of every single one of them, and then created a few more opportunities themselves.

Aaron Rodgers can cry about how they were the better team and how the better team lost yesterday all he wants...he is wrong.

There are 60 minutes in a game, not 55, and you don't get bonus credit for winning more of the minutes, you get credit for having more points on the board than your opponent when the game ends.

Going for FGs in what should be a relatively low scoring game is not a bad idea. It's only a bad idea in retrospect because they lost...and it is not why GB lost. If GB won by three points they'd all be climbing McCarthy's jock to be the first ones to congratulate him on his forward thinking to take the field goals.

Fake field goal? I don't think we've ever done one since Petey came on board...not one...and frankly, it caught me by surprise, big time. I thought we'd just take the three points to get off the snide and see if that generated any life on our side of the field.

Bostwick's terrible play on the onside kick was...terrible. But he didn't give up any points, and he didn't fail to throw at two injured DBs, and he didn't fail to tackle Marshawn Lynch...nor did he decide that the GB DBs should completely lose Baldwin on the play before the game winner.

He also didn't stand there with his thumbs up his ass like HaHa!! Clinton-Dix did and let Wilson throw a ball 55 yards in the air like a hot air balloon and fall right into Willson's hands for a 2 point conversion. That was the single worst defensive play of the entire game right there.

My biggest wonder is why we didn't run the damn zone read option until the very end of the game...there were half a dozen times throughout the first half when Russell handed off to Lynch while the DE was crashing in, and they would have been great times for Russell to keep it.

Not sure if those were designed handoffs or if Russell just didn't want to keep it for some reason, but that was a major fail of our offense.

Kearse gets to be the big fuckin hero, but if it wasn't for a ton of heroics all over the field he'd be the biggest goat...four interceptions while he was being targeted and two of them were 100% his fault, he may has well have caught the pass and turned and handed it to the defender.

There were a lot of head shakers in that game.

The Packers lost so every little thing will be examined so that fault and blame can be handed out accordingly, but the Hawks won so all we'll hear about are the few big plays at the end that gave us the win.

One single aspect of any of those many, many plays didn't work out our way and the Packers would be celebrating and we'd be raking Kearse, Russell, and Bevill over the coals right now.

I hope they all get chewed up in the film room today and tomorrow and then get back to playing better...we have kind of a big game coming up.

Fish on...

Todd

P.S. Considering turnovers, terrible kick coverage, and where the Packers started all of their drives, especially in the first half, I think our defense played their hearts out...there are things to work on for everyone, but overall our defense played well enough to beat anyone, including the Patriots in two weeks.

My son worked the game as a cameraman. His first words when he called last night were, "I've just witnessed a miracle, and I still can't believe what I saw." This is an individual who once flew to Texas to film the image of the Virgin Mary on a toasted cheese sandwich. He knows a miracle when he sees one.

After the Seahawk touchdown with 2:09 remaining, the camera and sound crew headed for the sideline to film the victors and the defeated leaving the field. A crew member commented that the last points would prevent the game from being a blowout. No one had a clue that playoff history and "The Miracle in Seattle" were about to occur.

A neighbor had his car and porch Packerized for the game. Green Bay flags were flying, and a cheesehead was conspicuously displayed. This morning, the Packer paraphernalia is all gone. He should have kept it up through "I Have a Dream" Day.

Go Hawks!

its just a sprain, he will be fine...

if you watch the replay you can see Kam slam into it and it jerks it quite a bit... im still surprised Rodgers didnt target him, it was obvious on the Starks tackle that he wasnt himself after that...

No fake...he was hurt.

GB fukked up by not throwing Shermie's way after the injury.

He was still holding it in that position today. Is that a good way to rest a sprain? Seems weird.

Russell, who's 10-0 vs super bowl winning QBs, and who has a career passer rating around 100 and had very few INTs this season, had a bad 3 quarters yesterday, mainly because of bad bounces off of Kearse's hands. He led a few of those passes just a bit too much. Add a stupid fumble on a kickoff return by Doug Baldwin (my man!), and a good punt return, and Green Bay was handed wonderful field position for at least 6 drives yesterday. With the ball given to them on the Seattle 45 or better on all of those drives, Green Bay scored a total of only...22 pts. Seattle's defense was still great in the game, throughout.
Seattle's offense is the unit that choked yesterday, in the first 3 quarters, not Green Bay. Choked on Bad Luck. Green Bay played as well as it was capable against a superior team. Yesterday wasn't the Packers imploding, it was Seattle having a bad game and then waking up. Seattle was the better team all along, and Green Bay almost stole one. The narrative has been backwards, IMO.

Watched the game in tukwilla with a couple old ridgeway reject tweaked whores. You shoulda seen the dude raise his head off the bar on that pass to Kearse and say "don james, hella coach".

We completely win this game. Rope a dope, man. Green Bay had no end game. On to NE. We are going to need a more outta Wilson then this sorry ass show...how bout we pretend there is 5 min. Left in the first quarter...

Thing I am missing now is hill or mebane, wish we had more of a up the gut pass rush.

The Cheeseheads and Cheesehead sympathizers are coming up with all sorts of excuses as to why their wonderboyz lost to those thugs from Seattle.
Too bad they can't just say, "We thought we had it in the bag, so we tried to salt it away by going prevent. Turned out, Seattle wanted it more than us and fought to the bitter end."
