#1: Girlfriend and I took our first trip to Olympic Coast (Sol Duc River) and caught plenty of silvers in the riffles using small spinners burnt with a lighter. I am especially fond of one moment when my girlfriend walked down the river and started fishing by herself and latched on to her first summer-run, also caught on a small, dark spinner. She had a blast. Thanks Bob for the tip and the other Bob at the Olympic Sporting Goods in Forks, by the way who said he taught Bob everything he knows (hee hee hee). Keep up the great work, GREAT web site.

#2: Been watching the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers closely over the last two weeks. As to date hooked seven, landed six all on green yarn and orange corkies. The fish are there, but not as strong as last year at this time, rain should make a difference. Counted 30-35 fish going thru the tailout at the cable car crossing on the Carbon River on Tuesday night and another 20 or so on Wednesday. Be at the mouth tonight trying to get some, stop by and say Hi!

#3: Just a reminder to everyone going up for the opener next Friday on the Carbon to please pick-up after themselves, the river is clean now, let's keep it that way. There is rumblings among the locals about trying to get the parking lot at the grange closed down, so please try to keep clean or it will be closed down. The fish are really stacked in there now, so go up and have fun. Thank you.

#4: Nice meeting some of you on the Nisqually a few weeks ago, Jerry, Dennis, Hairball, and others, had a really good time that evening, sorry the river has been so crappy thus far. Please post if things turn around on the Nisqually. Hope to see some of you that I saw on the Nisqually the other night, down on the Puyallup/Carbon within the next week or two.

#5: How's fishing life on the Kalama?? I haven't been all summer. Are silvers showing? If now when? Hope to be there real soon.

Just a quick report on the Carbon, colored real bad, near chocolate brown on Sunday. The Puyallup was alot cleaner above the conflunce.
Need cooler and some rain, only 56 fish at the hatchery so far, as of last posting at the hatchery.
Watch out, if number's don't increase and soon, things may and iam not talking good changes. Even the nets did not have much after 12:00 pm.
Whoa the sooth sayer saith! This may not be the year it was suppose to be. Alot of these fish have caught in the salt out in front of the mouth now and this could cause some closing or delays. Watch out for any new bulletin's coming out of WF's office's.
I have no inside info, just looking at past performance's, ie; Lk. Washington fiasco for one.

There are fish in the nisqually, you just have to look for them in the most unlikley places this year, don't ask me why, but I caught them down in tidewater on bobber and eggs in the little back eddies and corners at high and slck tide. There will be action above soon, remeber the nisqually is a september chinook river. Laters Superfly
