The 13th amendment has been mentioned in a couple of threads. I must admit that I was ignorant as to the history of it and I found it to be interesting. This article addresses it. As does this one.

The original 13th amendment was never legally ratified, they just kinda replaced it with the abolishment of slavery, and then acted like it never existed...
It could be enforced but congress and the Senate would be pretty much empty.
I wonder if it would affect Obama since he is disbarred. Did you know, both Barry and his wife Michael have been disbarred for corruption as were Bill and Hillary.

Yeah. If was never ratified it never existed as an amendment. If you believe that a non-ratified amendment should be followed then there are lots of folks happy about the ERA
