Finished up making a video of last June's Trip down the Selway River in Idaho... Great whitewater and great dry fly fishing for westslope cutthroat. Definitely one of my favorite multi day trips now slightly behind the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

Should be getting out on a few new rivers this summer too. (Owyhee and Green River Gates of Ladore in Utah)

Make sure to turn the video quality up to 1080p. It defaults to 360 which is crappy.

That looks like an amazing trip. The water color and general scenery look top shelf. Perfect music choices too.

I thought I was the only one that pulls the 360 degree squeeze-through move. smile

Nice work.
I saw a ton of quality work on the sticks!!
The Paradise area is beautiful.
I bet it was a long, bumpy road back to Hamilton to get a PFD!!!
You ain't finding much in Darby that's for sure. smile

I packed out of Paradise many years in a row with horses and mules.

As they say...............................It is the chit!!!

Aaron,

360 moves through the boulder patches are the way to go!! Thought for sure I was going to get hung up on a rock or two. As you can see from the top of that rapid the one boat was pulled over to scout and I rolled up, was going to read and run it, but then the guy in the red boat was parallel with me so I tried to slow up and give him a second to get in front of me which messed up my planned line a bit.

I found out by watching some other videos there is a line that is far left and is quite a bit easier... and the only route at low water. The guide book we had read said stay right at high/medium water and we were right at that threshold between medium and low.

Ladle I definitely want a couple oar strokes back so could have stayed on my planned line.. but sometimes it doesn't go as planned and you have to keep calm, don't panic, and roll with what you got in front of you and hope for the best. Very lucky to not have a pine branch squarely planted in the side of my boat.

Thanks! Definitely saw quite a few pack teams up at the guard station. Surprisingly some of them were not familiar with the Selway as a rafting destination and were wondering what we were doing way out there without horses.

Also yeah the drive back to Hamilton... luckily the guy realized he didn't have it right away. Was able to get to a sporting good store in Hamilton a half hour before it closed and get back by dark (we launched the next morning). The ranger then came down and visited with us that evening and told him that he could have borrowed one... (160 miles round trip later). We had tried to find the ranger when he first realized he didn't have it but ranger was out hiking for the day.
