Does anybody know the gentleman who wrote these articles, LeeRoy Wisner? I've always found the articles he wrote to be extremely accurate and very helpful, and written in a way anyone can understand. Just really spot on articles. If I ever needed info on something, and found he had wrote an piece on it, I knew it would be solid info.

I just recently was trying to pull a lower unit off a T8, and found an article he wrote on T8 maintenance. However when I go to his website to try and pull it up, or any of his writings for that matter, I get a domain not hosted type message.

Just wondering if anyone knows what might be going on with his website? Would really like to be able to get access to his writings again.

I dropped him a note. Will pass along any reply. LeeRoy is one of the good guys. Has been very active in the Willapa Bay/Grays Harbor issues and Puget Sound in years past.

He's on here once in a while. Goes by Machinist or similar?

I like his website as well!

Spoke to him just now.

Having host server issues for the past week.

The front page is up, but you won't be able to get any further.

Good old Leroy, used to see him monthly at our Gig Harbor PSA meetings and often at Westport. Saw a picture of him the other day on Facebook and he seems to have gotten younger looking not older. He has written alot of useful information over the years.

Thanks, sounds like he is just having technical issues. Please let him know his knowledge and time spent writing is appreciated.

Had no idea he was local or a legend....Just found some of his incredibly thorough ramblings relating to my old Johnson 8hp Sea Horse that I'm selling and needed some carb info....Way more info than the service manual.

Here's the response from LeeRoy. Hopefully, one of the moderators can straighten out his PP problem.....

7-1-16 2:46PM

To those of you who follow my LeeRoy's Ramblings fishing/hunting/outboard motor repair articles, I have an apology. My site has been down for about a week. The front/opening page is there, but you can not access anything behind that.

The situation is that on one article, I used 2 photos that were copyrighted. These were of knot tying & were in color, but they had the copyright logo imbedded in the background. Apparently I must have a slight amount of color-blindness (could not clearly see the imbedded part).

Last week I was sent a letter from a firm representing the author, saying these images needed to be taken down within 48 hours.

At the same time, my web host had slightly changed my web address (to further protect it??) & if they sent me a notice, I did not see it. As a result, I could get in but could upload these deletions, until I got a web tecky out (who had a doctors appointment that he was not aware of at the same time his office had me booked). So he was here the next day & got it fixed, but it was to late for their 48hr timetable. So my web hosting company killed my site.

Nowhere in these instructions was there any way to contact the copyright holder so I could make any arrangements

E-mail communications from my web host were not responded to in a timely manner. I finally did a phone call to them & was walked thru how to delete items off their "Master". I was told at that time that it would be up in 24 hours, BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

More e-mails & finally they acknowledged it was OK, and now all I had to do was to return an e-mail agreement (in legal terms) & everything would be a go to open my site. Did not happen, so more phone calls & apparently I did not have the proper legal wording. So copy & paste things I do not understand. Lastly I was informed since this was a Federal infringement, my returned e-mail now has to go to a US District Court Judge in Massachusetts, which could take another 10 business days. So here we are into the 4th of July long week-end. My hope now is that all the I's & T's are dotted/crossed.

Of the photos I use, 98% are taken by me. I do have permission for others that I know, or that I can track down, but a few are snatched off social media. So if any of you can identify any of my photos as yours, please let me know & I can give you credit (or delete them as you wish).

LeeRoy Wisner

Now I seem to have a PP log on problem, & they say they have sent me an e-mailed new temp password, but it is not coming in.

LeeRoy Wisner is a 10. One wise gentleman. I read his works every once in a while. His works are partially responsible for the saving of a few lives and that is a sure fact.
