On the upper drift after you leave Duffy Creek and head into the slide hole there is a sweeper/strainer that as the river continues to drop it is going to get to a point where you won't be able to get enough water on your sticks to get around it.....and that time is coming soon.

I saw that this weekend, there was a knee board and inner tube already trapped in the debris. Definitely a real hazard, it would be worth a warning sign (WDFW) at the put in at high bridge.

I knew this tree was going to be an issue, we spotted it on our annual spring pre-fishing float. The other spot that raises an eyebrow it is Christmas tree run just above the Mouth of the Wallace about a mile up just above the fingers. It's shallow, fast and stay right of the wood pile.

Thanks for the heads up. When in doubt I always walk the boat around.

Rain for the next 3 days, I will throw the saw in the boat. Gotta work Sat, but if it's still there on Sunday, it's in the way and must be dealt with. Any idea how big around it is?

3ft diameter would be close. Its not legal to cut that without a permit btw.

I'm not planning on taking it home for firewood. Damn hippies screaming about their trees until it kills someone, then cut down the forest to protect us!!

Thanks Fish Doctor for pointing this out. It is illegal to cut this without a permit and I agree with the law. Large woody debris are critical for native fish habitat and certainly more important than making it easier and safer for boaters. I am so tired of us (Mankind) believing that we know better. It's selfish and BS.

Not to mention that any human corpes left in the river will add nutrients to the ecosystem.

I would highly not recommend attempting to cut out this tree, it is in a pretty dangerous spot on the edge of a clay bank in very swift water
