Did anyone do any good out at Sekiu this weekend? I heard that most of the bigger Silvers were gone and nothing was left but a bunch of finclipped hatchery fish all in the 3 to 7 pound range.. I wonder what happened.... Where are all the big hooknose?

Fished Sekiu on Friday, and I should have gone to Neah Bay instead... We got there about 7:30 and fished until 5 pm. There was a strong east wind most of the day that kept us from chasing fish too far offshore, so I don't know how good this info is. Our largest problem was all the blackmouth, mostly about 14 inches, that kept us from catching much of anything. Had one big fish follow a hooked dink in to the boat and had another cruise by once.

We ended up catching five native silvers up to six pounds and two hatchery fish about five or so. The best bite, if you can call it that, was in the evening when the tide changed and wind dropped.

Neah wasn't much better last weekend. Tons of shakers, Landed 3 decent fish, 2 hatch, one to 15 lbs. Did almost land a 500lb + seal lion at the boat, fishing whole salmon for bait! scared the @#$% out of me. I'll be more careful reaching down to unhook natives in the future. We need rain up here. I've been hearing PA wasn't good either! rain, rain, rain
