Not sure what is the bigger story...that Alabama has a Democratic senator, or that they very nearly elected a family values pedophile.

Considering they overwhelmingly voted for an admitted sexual predator for President, I guess voting for a pedophile isn't surprising news.

Hey Todd, This is just the beginning of the unwinding of the party of evil. When president chump began his run and started offending everybody and their grandmother the Republicans were adamantly against him. But in the end they chose to sell out. Now they will pay dearly for it. Also when the average voter that voted for chump realizes that he has completely fvcked them over it will be interesting to see how they react. Unfortunately we will will be getting fvcked too. This is America's biggest problem. A lack of education not just academically but being informed about how this country runs. How the government works, how congress and the senate works. How our foreign policy works and why. I don't need to go on. It's not only sad but it's downright scary as to how uniformed so many people are. There are some however that truly have a grip on the pulse of this country and world. You know, guys like Rich G and Sol Duc. True scholars with a PHD in "I don't know my ass from third base." I wonder who they voted for?(haha) That is if they are legal to vote which may be questionable. I wonder if they will show a video of Roy Moore riding his horse OUT OF TOWN? hahaha

What I think is going to happen is the the R's will split and form two new parties. The Bat-[Bleeeeep!] crazy white supremecists will be one and the other will be the more or less mainstream Republicans.

At the same time, the Democrats will split with the left Progressive Bernie wing going left and the rest going right. They will meet with the R's in the middle and form a marriage of convenience and power.

The difficult balancing act is that there is fairly large group that is fiscally rather conservative (at least balance the damn budget) but socially liberal. Neither current party, or their splinter groups, accomplish this.

It's lonely in the middle as a mostly fiscally conservative and mostly social liberal (there are personal lines in there both left and right...hence being in the middle).

For example: I'm totally cool if some dude wants to become a Caitlyn Jenner. Whatever puts the blue into your jeans dude/dudette. Freedom eh!

BUT....you also want to serve in the military and force taxpayers to foot the bill for your transition? Ah hell no - that's where I draw a line. When actual lives are involved, social experiments must come second. I don't care "if you are serving your country to ensure that freedom remains free" or whatever other trite BS you roll out. That dog won't hunt at all. You ARE hindering your squad and putting lives at risk all-the-while costing John Q taxpayer big money. That isn't serving your country or anyone else but yourself and your social cause. So no. Sorry.
