Floating down from a gangbusters silver trip this morning. A Momma moose & two calfs were walking along the bank ... Momma and one calf plopped in the water and started swimming across. I angled our drift across and let the gang get pretty close for a pic. But I didn't pay attention to the other calf until after we were done shooting pix and I heard bleating right on the opposite side ... alhtough well downstream at this point, the swift current pushed this calf right into us and he just kept coming for an up close look.

I wondered why Rainey, who sleeps under our RV each night, was especially lovey this morning when I got up to find her pulled free from her tie. In my morning stupor, I thought she was just carrying around a stick like she usually does ... once I got into the boat, I found out why she had pulled free ... chasin' a porcupine that came through the yard last night. Obviously caught it for a moment!

If she only got the 3 you both got lucky ! ! My dobies got into one a few years back and after I pulled 50+ myself they took a trip to the vet to have a couple cut out that went deep.
