Lets hear 'em. The 50 lb king thread got me thinking. I always like to day dream and think about how I can take my fishing experiences to the next level. Go ahead and let it rip. I encourage the crazy ones.

Here's a few of my own:

-Catch a sockeye
-Catch a 50+ lb king
-Find an awesome fishing hole that NO PERSON HAS EVER FOUND (I mean out there, far from man)
-Catch a 20 lb steelhead on a jig I tied myself
-Catch a steelhead in the salt
-Catch a steelhead on a gummy bear
-Catch a fish on a jig that I tied with my own or my dogs hair (my pooch could probably put out some good coho jigs)
-Go swimming with a summer steelhead while I play it (goggles and snorkel will be a must)
-become a prostaffer................ jk

this one means alot to me:

-Put my bro on some big fish when he gets back from deployment, and someday fish with him at one of our childhood honey holes. Growing up we'd go to my dads in the summertime and fish clear lake in eastern washington. We used to go out at night and put out a floating light at the end of a dock then watch trout munch on our worms/corn. His first son is almost getting old enough to hold a snoop rod too.... It would be something else to recreate that experience.

Trips that I will save for
RainBows:
Jurassic Lake,
Lk Illiamma, and its tribs.
Salmon:
Go with my brothers 51' Ocean Alexandra to
Rivers Inlet
I have fished Rivers Inlet a few times back in the 80's but have not been back since.

+1,000,000

Mine:

Put my son on some big fish after he completes Ranger school in a couple of weeks and before heads back for redeployment.

That's it. Taking it one goal at a time. Lord has been very good to me. smile

I am motivated by big fish out of a small boat...

Thresher shark, sturgeon and halibut out of a kayak

I also really want to catch a roosterfish, wahoo and cubera snapper

Someday...

I've fished most of my bucket list, so I add new ones.

Belize for bonefish and permit;
Chile for trout, and maybe steelhead and salmon;
Dean River summer runs.
And returning to AK for destinations new and old cuz it's not likely I'll tire of it.
Oh, and spring steelheading on the Skagit again in my lifetime.

Man, you guys got me thinking again.

Here's something that would be sweet to do in a kayak.

They got some vids of them catching tarpons too.

Possibilities:
-Catch a nile perch
-Catch a giant Russian Atlantic Salmon

Tops on my list currently:
Permit
A day with 3 or more 15+ pound silvers
Roosterfish
Keeper ling on the fly
Salt king on the fly

Some are more easily accomplished than others but I think I'll be able to check at least 2 of these off this year.

By next year, I will have come up with a new list.

It probably sounds odd but I'd also like to go back to the midwest and try driftfishing or sidedrifting for big catfish.

Tarpon and sailfish in a kayak would be brilliant too...

What a great shot there!

Top on my list is to catch one of each cutthroat subspecies. I have 4, about 10 to go.
Then a golden trout (in its native range), a Dolly, a bull trout, and an Arctic char, a grayling and that probably tops off the coldwater fish.

For warmwater i would probably look for a smallmouth, which i will be chasing this year.

Size doesn't matter; a pretty, colorful fish will be just fine.

I hope to get all of these on flies; eventually on one's i have tied myself.

My bucket list for 2011 is to put my father in-law on his first steelhead. He works a lot so it's hard for him to get out much.

My bucket list for this year consists of learning 2 to 3 rivers really well in the drift boat and landing some big fish in the boat.

I am a simpleton regarding this stuff. For a lot of us fishing is sort of a selfish activity, and so I try to maintain that my emphasis is having fun and relaxing.

I would rather spend a lazy afternoon screwing around on a pond with my kids, than catching a 20# steelhead. So my bucket list is simple:

Choose appropriate conditions and locales so that my kids get to go on successful fishing trips, and have a good time. The most important thing to me is showing them that you can have fun doing simple pure activities, and you don't need anything electronic to entertain you (except maybe a trolling motor).

Get my 7yo an adult king this year. He's had a bunch of steelies, sockeyes, and a couple chinook jacks so far. He needs a "big boy fish" now.

I'd go back to the Indian Ocean and find that same rock off the Somali Coast and spear whatever the hell that long silver fish was with big teeth that circled me a few times when I was ten. It's been bugging me my whole life, I want a do -over.
