Just thought that I would repost this here also for those who do not frequent the other site as I know some of you on here knew Tim.
I heard the news earlier this week and I still cannot believe it but for those of you who knew him he passed away. He was a good friend of mine and the pioneer of free drifting on the Cowlitz. He was an innovator and a teacher... we all learned a lot from him. Stubborn at times for not changing over to a float but I caught him at least a few times violating his principles and fishing a float. Just a month ago I walked in on him fishing a float and he said to me "Isaac you don't see me and what I am doing right now :)". I just laughed and said "Tim did you ask for forgiveness for this sin?"
We spent many hours on and off the river talking about life, Christ, and people in general. He would tell me about how the younger generation lacked appreciation and respect - wanting everything now and not caring for nature and its resources. I watched him get into a heated argument one day and then immediately forgive the individual and apologize for arguing in front of his wife. I learned a lot from him - both in fishing and also in life. The stories are numerous.
You will truly be missed Tim. Fish on my brother.
