We've got the Pebble Partnership and they've got Northern Gateway.

If these projects go forward the fish don't stand a friggin chance!

What? Shipping the oil to Asia? I thought they wanted to ship it to New Orleans so that it would lower our dependence on Middle Eastern oil right here in the good ol' US of A?

Yeah...right.

No matter which way they do it...the Keystone Pipeline or a pipeline to Kitimat, it'll be an environmental disaster waiting to happen with all the oil going straight to Asia.

As usual, the areas containing the pipeline will get destroyed, and the money will go to the oil companies.

Fish on...

Its funny how fast things can change. Not long ago were worried to death about our reliance on foreign energy. Now they are forecasting the US becoming
a major exporter of LNG in the next 20 years. Some power plants have already converted to LNG as have a good number of trucks. Cummings is now building LNG engines for semis.

We probably won't need Canada's oil. But someone will.

Add to the list that we will soon be shipping massive amounts of coal and crude to Asia from our major ports in the Northwest. Make no mistake; despite overwhelming public opposition to all those projects, every one of them is underway (think of the public comment and environmental reviews as North of Falcon on a grander scale). Not only will inevitable spills occur, doing irreparable, direct damage to vital marine habitats, but as Asian industry burns it all up, the indirect damage from poisoning the atmosphere will be a hard rain, indeed.

The good news is that sea water will soon be contain enough petroleum and coal dust to be combustible, and everyone will have all the affordable energy they need.

A wake up call to the worlds industrial giants... business as usual is unsustainable. Time for a new paradigm.

Grays Harbor MIGHT be a shipping point for oil.......even though many are against having the oil shipped by rail.

For.......Port of G.H., city of Hoquiam, might add 30 jobs

Against.........Many individuals, QIN, if you've been to Aberdeen, you know the ONLY rail line goes right along the hiway and close to miles of the Chehalis River.

The "for group" wants to ram rod this project thru.

Major problems, just waiting to happen........

I heard an interesting idea the other day that the coal export facilities planned for the west coast are backed by Chinese money, and that they have no intention of actually building one of these facilities. They are using the possibility as a threat to keep the price of coal that they are getting from Australia down. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but knowing what I do about the planned projects it sounds about right.....
The oil thing on the other hand is very real and happening all over the place. The money surrounding crude oil is not easy to get your head around....

I am sure there is major game-man-ship going on over the energy consumption in China and the money involved but make no mistake the only losers will be us. They will ramrod the coal trains through, find a way to exploit the tar sands and spoil our lands in the process.

History has proved this!

This article will not make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

China’s Economic Empire

HONG KONG — THE combination of a strong, rising China and economic stagnation in Europe and America is making the West increasingly uncomfortable. While China is not taking over the world militarily, it seems to be steadily taking it over commercially. In just the past week, Chinese companies and investors have sought to buy two iconic Western companies, Smithfield Foods, the American pork producer, and Club Med, the French resort company.

The same way that the Industrial World raped and pillaged the Third World for all their resources...we're about to let China do it to us, and for exactly the same reasons.

1. They want and need the resources.
2. A handful of people will get rich off it it.

...and with the same consequences...

1. The environment will get destroyed.
2. Those who get rich off of it will not be the ones paying to fix the mess they cause.

Fish on...
