There are certainly legit anglers on the Skokomish during the Chinook run...some of my friends and acquaintances among them, too...and if you read the long locked post, you'll not find anywhere that I said there weren't any legit anglers there.

My entire point was that legit anglers ought not go there, and ought not add any air of legitmacy to that fishery. The "angling" I witnessed will not be changed by any good example being set, at all, in my opinion...in fact, I think that the few legit anglers who are there are awarding DFW for condoning the rest of the mess there.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it...period. If folks don't agree with me, fine...it's a free country, after all.

If folks continue to ignore what I wrote and instead get all wound up because of something I didn't even say (that there are no legit anglers there), then that is their problem, not mine...if I wasn't clear enough and gave that impression, then I apologize.

I think this topic has been seen through to it's bitter end now.

Flyfishing, egg throwin' trash picken' ........ It was good entertainment, but I think it really hit a few nerves. I am just really surprised to hear who still fishes there. Its a 20 mile drive from my house and I don't fish it anymore. I also wouldn't expose my boys to it.

I go there and fish eggs and catch fish and only spend about 10.00 bucks a day on gas. It is 25 miles from my home, I get there at 4:30 am and am usaully leaving by 5:15 with fish in hand, get home shower and go to work. You just have to choose your spots to get away from people. I will be there tomorrow am with Parker, subcoop , fishhead and a few others fishing legit and calling it quits at around 5:30m or so.
