It's not often you can capture an entire sequence, from hook-up to landing of a 20 pound steelhead on film. Here's just such a clip of Nick with our last fish of the trip. \:\)

what type of reels and lb line are you guys using up there for those brutes? you guys look like you're able to handle these fish pretty easily (I say easy compared to the 5 20lb+ fish that I ahve watch kick my ass)

Big reels with lots of line capacity, Ambasaduer 7500, etc, loaded with 250 to 300 yards of 20-pound mono. I used the green Suffix this go around and have no complaints, it's probably the best mono I've tried to date.

You have to remember there is the very real potential to hook a high 30's or low 40's steelhead up there. Herzog reportedly landed a 35 pounder while we were there.

Damn near too cold for mono. We had ice freezing on the foot or so of mono above the spoon that doesn't get reeled into the guides like candle wax. No joke.

You're a TOOL, dude. Go eat a big bag of dick.

The "river" hasn't been divulged, and quite frankly after having done it, I wouldn't do it again. There's a reason people don't do what we did, it's too damn dangerous, so I'm not worried in the least about causing an increase in pressure.

I am with Sol, he has always been very good about not disclosing the river or spot he is fishing up there. He has been consistant every year when he comes back with his reports. We all love to dream about that fishery and he is one of a few that can tell us about it.

I like the vid.

Lots of magazine articles about those rivers and the lodges up there do alot of internet talking also. But apparently the whole fishing world is waiting for Sol to post some pics about an unnamed river??
