Headed to Guemes Island for a gathering in March. Will have either my boat or a kicker boat to use. Most likely the kicker. If I use the kicker I will be somewhat limited could use an idea on where to go. Will will be staying next to Hunts Park on the North east side of the island. Thank you in advance.

Go troll in front of cypress (eagle bluff) if its open....salmon are caught there..not sure of the regs but nevertheless a short boat ride.

Indian village and clark point on the north west side of Guemes or the whole south end of guemes, mainly the southwest corner but it is very influenced by the tide so pick your times. In a kicker boat if you head to the west side of cypress run the north side of guemes to the north side of cypress and around the corner to avoid the nasty rip tide between indian village and the south end of the cone islands. Grab a fishnmap from the sporting goods shop and check out these spots. Basic gear is needed coho killers, coyotes, or hoochies with flashers as long as they have green or u/v white on them you should be good. Good luck

Some people spend large amounts of money on a nice boat, maybe they should spend a little bit more and learn how to run the F%C#@NG thing. Stupid people shouldn't fish especially next to, in front of, behind, or anywhere near me.

Depending on the "kicker boat"/weather...I'd say Indian Village, and if I were feeling adventurous.....Secret Harbor(Deepwater Bay)....March 15th shows a 5ft(+-) change for Guemes channel...which should limit some of the "savage" tide rips to "active" tide rips....Make sure the kicker is reliable....We stayed at Guemes Island Lodge(N.E side of the Island) last March, and a guy comes rowing in in a dory around dark.....looking kinda happy to be on land, we ask where he was coming from.....apparently he launched from Cypress earlier that day, and planned on ending up on Cypress!....Can't remember the details, but know he spent the day rowing/gave up at some point when it was pointless...and rowed like crazy when it slacked to the nearest land.....haven't seen anyone drink a beer that fast since college....Tom
