Salmon are there for the skilled fisherman

The salmon that are out there can be caught with a good boat operated by a captain with a sharp eye. Some tales are circulating about the larger spring salmon being reeled in but those appear to be the exceptions in what is shaping up to be a challenging 2010 fishing season.

Bait fish are moving more than usual and by all accounts it takes skill to land a fish of any size. Angling being what it is, it could all change depending on conditions.

"I'm expecting a good year, we're hitting fish every day," said Gerry Rupp, 24-year operator of Invictus fishing charters. "People who are saying: 'There's the water, we're going to catch fish,' are going be disappointed, but fish are there . . .
