Bought one Friday, cooked steaks on Friday. the word would be perfect medium rare. I cooked turkey on Saturday the word would be excellent moist bird. follow the instructions, set the dial and come back on time. I wish I knew about these years ago. I highly recommend, bought at a Costco on sale near you.

I have had my Traeger for three years now and use it constantly. I dont use mine for steaks, I like my steaks over high heat for a short period of time. My favorite things to make on my Traeger are Ribs, Briskets, Pork Shoulders, Meatloaf, Prime Rib Roasts, and Papa Murphies Pizzas.

Yup the traeger is sweet. I don't care for steaks on it either but it does everything else good. Look into getting the digital temp reader if it didn't come with one. Cheap and easy install. Customer service is great too. The hot rod that burns the pellets went out and was a year old and they sent out a new one overnight mail no questions asked.

My heating rod went out as well, I just use a little charcol lighting fluid and a lighter, works great. I was gonna do our thanksgiving turkey on it but I am affraid the cold temps will mess up the cook time.

I want one in the worst way. A lot of my buds have them and they are just awesome.

Maybe this summer I will choose that over a new sailboard. That will be a tough choice.

If you are cooking steaks, try removing the heat diffuser. Let the grates heat up and trust me... it will get plenty hot.

Lost mine in a divorce almost three years ago.

I would like to sell mine. I don't use it enough. We are empty nest people and my wife went Veggie on me.

Ribs, chicken, salmon, venison roast, or smoked salmon are born for the Traeger. Steaks or burgers not so much. Mine is an old school one, no frills but the nice thing is you can open the lid all the way up and it's just a big flat grill. That lets me load up the racks from a Big Chief smoker and set the rack on top of the firebox in the middle of the grill, set the metal box from the Big Chief upside down over the top, turn the Traeger setting to "smoke", and cold smoke my smoked salmon all night. I just turn up the heat to "medium" for the last hour to finish it off and I get the best smoked salmon on the planet.

Try maple pellets with a venison roast sometime. Wow.

Costco in Woodinville had them about two weeks ago for like 25% off or something like that. Almost pulled the trigger but thought the boss might scalp me! grin

Just realized One Way already mentioned Costco.
