I have the oportunity to get a Sony cyber-shot TX10 digital camera for next to nothing (sorry, it is a one time only deal, can't hook anyone up).
Has anyone used this camera, pro and con opinions?
Thanks

So I know nothing about this camera, but I looked at Amazon and people seem to like it based on reviews (4 stars)

The one con i read about that might prevent me from buying it for riverside fish pics is that it apparently has crappy image stabilization. Owners are saying bring the tripod...which isnt practical and typically results in crappy unsharp pictures in lower light.

Does Costco Sell it? If so buy one try it out.... if ya dont like it.... return it for a Lumix smile

Thanks
My son just got a Lumix this fall and it is pretty sweet. I can get this well Sony well below wholesale, just cant decide if I should. Guess I could get it and put it on Ebay if I don't like it and at least recoup my cost.

The biggest issue that drove me towards carrying a DLSR on the river was sharpness. I had been using P&S's and had so so many great shot's screwed up because the camera didnt perform and missed the shot. Drove me nutz!

With point and shoot's I think Image stabillization is a super important feature. You can get around it by throwing a flash all the time, but personally I dont like to use a flash unless absolutely necessary. They tend to distort true color and blow out the chrome or white on a fish.

Take a look at the latest SSJ cover... it's very sharp & taken without a flash leaving the Fish's colors 100% intact and the subjects face a little darker, but it looks good that way..cause it isnt about the angler its about the fish.
