I am going to birthday party at the park there and wondered if it was worth it to bring a spinning rod or fly rod? Basically has anyone fished there?

Thanx

It hasn't been fishing great, but there are some nice bows and browns in there.
A friend and I have been getting some nice browns chironomid fishing in 22 ft of water on the south end of the lake.
You can rent a boat from Bud at the boathouse next to the launch if you want to row around the lake.

last week was decent... 90 percent of fish caught are in the south end like Stone said... you can rent the rowboat for 5 dollars an hour and row down there... cast wedding rings, spinners, dick nites, or troll any of them while rowing....

only a few fish have been being caught off the dock and shore...

also, i think its this weekend that the pay for parking in the park itself goes into effect, i believe its 3 dollars just to enter the park, which will likely decrease the amount of people in there...

around 2 weeks ago they stocked the lake with 3500 13-15 inch rainbows...

good luck...

Thank you for the replies, maybe I can convince the wife to stay after the party and rent a boat.

just remember to bring a 20 with you, you need to put 20 down on a deposit for the boat and they give you change if there is any when you get back...

from the boat house to the south end of the lake, is probably around a half mile or so, when i row down there, i usually troll on the way down, and it takes roughly 15 minutes... so keep that in mind on your return trip back to the boathouse when you are heading in....
