I was told through a reliable source that A.W. has been bought out by a competitor back east. those who have liked the location of angler's in woodland this is going to suck!

I would think that they would want to maintain a Woodland presence since that is the US epicenter for rod blank manufacturing.

They probably made a business decision based on the fishing opportunity in Washington and regulations and other problems.

i think GBL may be on to something, just look at how many models of steelhead rods lamiglas has discontinued in the last couple years. getting down to the point where mostly all either boat trolling rods, or float rods. i think it's kind of telling about the current situation...tributary fishing down that way is pretty much on life support.

that really sucks about anglers workshop, i stop in to dig through the bargain bin every time i'm in the area, and it's one of the few places i can test out a rod blank in person. hard to get a feel for that from a website or catalog.

That's gonna' hurt most of the DIY rod builders in this region. I think I'm pretty well stocked up on supplies for the time being.

Ouch! I've dropped a lot of coin with them over the years.

Exactly!

Myself included. Nothing like being able to go in in person and fit/test components so as to leave no doubt.
