I am just back from an Argentina fishing and hunting trip.

Awesome stuff Dave! I have always loved the look of those Dorado. I will be down there middle of next month, will have a car and some time so might be able to wet a line...did you spend much time in Buenos Aires?

RS I spent two nights in BA. Loved it. Its a clean, pretty city, with a real european feel. Be ready to dine after 9:00 PM. Nightclubs don't open till well after midnight.

Yep its a catfish called a suribi. It was the first fish I caught there and the guide was amazed. He said they almost never get them on flies. Quite a tussle on a 7 wt.

I have heard that the Channel Cat here in the US is actually a pretty active fish and that at times are taken on surface plugs. Might be another candidate for flies.
