As always it was spectacular. Easy limits of halibut, lingcod and coho. But the best news was the big chinook. Our group landed three in excess of 30 and one 45. If have have never done this trip you should consider it for next year.

Not really, though it does slow down in August there are (most years) definitely kings to be had. A few years back I fished with 3 residents and 1 non res and limited the boat, 10 kings on 8/17. I also know of a 63lbs. king taken on 9/3 and a couple 50's caught in late August.
Definitely wouldn't make August my 1st or 2nd choice of months to target kings on the west side of P.O.W Is. but if a guy knows where to look, they can be found.
