Fished Possession Saturday with my brother. There was wildlife everywhere, from whales, porpoise, seals, sea lions, thousands of birds and TONS of bait.

We scratched out 3 before, my brother had to go home, but was a beautiful morning

That is a bright chum. Looks just like the one I caught a couple of weeks ago at Shipwreck. I thought mine was a Coho until the fish checker ID'd it. And then when I filleted it, definitely a chum. Beautiful fish!

Yes Sebastes, it is a chum. I thought it was a nice coho, until it got in the boat. Then, it was a nice chum.

I have a friend who told about catching some very large Silvers at Port Madison years ago that turned out to be Chums. I've never eaten one from local saltwater, but had some from Nootka Sound that cut with good color and were fine on the barbie.

The start of bars and the larger eye made me think it was a chum.
