I have a whole bunch of blue foxes that need repainting. Is there a good way to repaint them without taking them apart ? I was going to use nail polish but I feel like they won't be very durable banging them off of rocks. Any advice ?

Getting them ready for Coho fishing? Throw your preferred color hoochie on the back and call it good. If you need more color throw a decal on the inside of the blade.

I guess you could brush a liquid paint on them and hang em upside down to dry, but that seems pretty tedious to me.

Most of my favorite lures have damaged paint jobs.

Nail polish holds up pretty well if you use a clear coat, I've done a few and haven't had too much of an issue. Truth is Reefskunk is right, I seem to catch more with stickers on the blade and hoochies on a beat up body than with a nice paint job.

I need to go through and put new hooks on all of em and give them a good cleaning. I retrieved 15 off the bottom of the river the other day. I use hootchies but have never added decals to the blades , that's a great idea. I will probably paint a few up with nail polish and clear coat just to try it. Thanks for the replies. And yes, gearing up for coho.

fishEmunchR:

You tear them apart, I'll put them together for you.

I see you live in Grays Harbor, so do I.....Central Park. I have made 1000's of spinners, in the old days I even sold a few.

If you'll paint them, bring them to my house.....I'll show you how to completely bend wire, for spinners, and then how to "break the wire", with no sharp ends.

Free, no charge......heck, I might even make you a few............

Send me a pm, if interested.............

Agreed.... polish the blade and add a pink hoochie.... DONE!

Gee, that's what I'm doing wrong. I was just using river sand from South Monte' ramp to remove the oxidation. umbrella
