Decided to try my luck with some late fall Steelhead this past Monday. Launched to boat at 6:30 with high hopes as the River was is great shape (I obviously was not on the coast). Side drifting was on the menu for the day as we wanted to cover a lot of water. With in minutes of the launch we had two great takes, but nothing to show. At about 7:30 it started to rain pretty hard for this side of the mountains. Spent the rest of the day working over the runs pretty hard with little to show. Did manage to pick land one nice buck, but that was it for about 6 takes on the day. Over all, even with it raining all day, it was a great day to be on the river. Got to see lots of Eagles and a few dear. Below is the one that managed to not spit to hook.
