Fished Sekiu Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 3 fishers in the boat. 10 coho in the freezer. It was a early morning bite. 5 fish on Thursday before 9 a.m., 3 fish on Friday before 9 a.m., and 2 fish today, again before 9 a.m. Averaged about 7 lbs. Biggest was 10 lbs. Lots of shakers and a fair mark rate on the little buggers. One 25 lb C&R Chinook in 450' of water 40' down.

Glow hootchie behind a green/glow e-chip flasher was preferred set-up. Second best was a mini-squid (pink) behind a small white flasher. Third was blue Grand Slam bucktail behind green/glow e-chip.

Water conditions were good in the a.m. The locals refer to this month as "Fogust" for a reason. Really bad Friday a.m. until mid-morning. It wasn't a thick fog bank as you could see the sun. Some folks need to learn to slow down when running in the fog, especially if they are looking into the sun. A good chart-plotter will keep you out of the shipping lanes when it rolls in.

Looking forward to some more trips in September.
