Joined King Katosan over the weekend to "deckhand" and help put his baby girl and her boyfriend on some king action.

Calm seas and gorgeous weather made for a perfect day out on the big blue pond, but fishing was TOUGH. By 2pm we had only one fish in the box!

But I've learned to never despair when Katosan is at the helm. We finished the day 8 for 11 fishing 3 rods... 6 kings (2 undersized) plus 2 hatch coho... 3 other coho that fell off. The young couple were pretty stoked.

My favorite shot of the day....

Returned Sunday to gloomier skies and blustery seas with the intent of targeting bottomfish in a faraway spot 25+ miles to the north. When we got there, weather and water conditions made it impossible to effectively fish.

Settled for 3 black rocks, an undersized ling, and a LARGE oversized ling that won the battle... oh yeah, 5 for 6 on coho as well.

Sorry, no pics cuz it was too wet and rough to get decent images.
