Matt,
Yes, you should send in the warranty cards. Such cards usually seem like a waste of a postage stamp. But not always. I don't break very many rods due to defects. However, I bought a CND Custom 13' 7/8, which as good as it handles, has some internal defect, and I've broken 3 of them. I now know 3 other guys who broke the same model, and 2 who got lucky and haven't had any issue. I still love that rod, and if the one I have now breaks, they are replacing them with a new model - defect free one hopes.
Sincerely,
Salmo g.

Will the rods continue to be made in Japan?
Will the lead time be less than 45 days on sent in repairs, defects, etc?
Will this make the prices go up?
Thankyou
PS: Wow, did I see single hand CND rods there or?

Salmo g. Mine was from the first run when they first came out and I have fished it a ton (but not this year ) Can't wait for the "North Fork" model to be out; as in North Fork Stilly we been talking about this for a couple years now and there is one here now (Canada, Kush)

H2H,
DH is merely pointing out that on the NF Stilly, a two handed rod eliminates the need to cast. Whether DH can cast or not isn't relevant to the statement.
So, what, precisely, is the point in making a two handed model and calling it the NF? What is the length and line weight for the NF?
BTW, now I remember that your 1307 was from the first run, and it seems like those didn't experience the breakage problem the subsequent run did. Do you know what difference occurred that made the run my 3 rods came from such a lemon bunch? Still, I gotta' say, it's a very sweet casting rod. And now it's season is coming on. Gotta' put the Spey Tracker (aka Chum Tracker) away for the winter now and get ready to huck some tips out upon the waters.
Sincerely,
Salmo g.

DH and I shot at each other over two-handed rods all the time at different meetings we go to; it's just a way of DH saying he can't cast worth a ****
1307
From what I understand they made the top section stiffer in the second run (that's me talking)

The upper section of the 1307 was made from the stiffer lighter graphite used in the Specialist series. This change seems to have caused an increased stress to be placed on the middle (of three) section of the blank. I've broken 3 at approximately the same point, just above the lower ferrule. Still a great casting rod, but now I ~always~ have a backup in case it goes *POW*. Salmo_G - the Tracker NEVER gets put away. I've got a line (created by line wizard H2H)that will support 13' of 8wt Type 8 tip. Perfect for those hatchery winters! :p
