i added the peacock to make the back a little darker but there is no need to. Also I usually have eyes and an epoxy head. There is some crystal flash in the middle with the pearl angelhair on the bottom and peacock angel hair on top. (Take a clump, tie in at the middle of it and fold it back for both the bottom and top.
You dont need the red but i throw it on some of my flies... doesnt ever seem to make a difference.
I tied this one on a #2 but right now with the size of the bait i would use a 6 or a 4.

So what about the eyes and epoxy head? Do the fish care or do you tie it that way cause you like it? I assume this is for use in the salt, please confirm or explain and thanks for sharing

i think eyes can make a big difference in the salt. i like having them for both me and the fish.
to do the eyes i have to build up the head and then use some stick on eyes or glue doll eyes to the sides, then epoxy over them.

That pattern works great in the salt. I too have been using a pattern just like that out at neah bay (except with eyes & epoxy head). That angel hair is great in the water - but those flies do get destroyed by the coho pretty quickly.

Actually it is a good problem to have.

Cheers,
