My freind, and a few others are hiking up to this lk. I will be bringing the bug rod, 3500' elevation. what dry fly action and wets occur on the higher elevation lakes this time of year?

When hiking into alpine lakes I always bring Adams sizes 14-18, flying ants, beadhead nymphs, scuds and wooly buggers. I am sure I am missing quite a few. Probably, whatever you don't decide to carry in will be the "hot fly". Good luck.

Don't forget a few soft hackles too. While dry flies are fun, stripping a Carey's Special or spider just below the surface can bring some strong grabs in between surface action. Like other fun things in life, vary the length and speed to get results wink

Don't forget to take some damsels and dragons. Nymphs and adults.
