Been trying to remember to take my camera fishing so I could be like the cool studds who post on PP. However my fishing partner has as bad a camera skilz as I do, maybe worse. I took a couple pictures of a rosy hen about 10 pounds a couple weeks ago and managed to make the fish look sick, so I'll spare everyone that damage. Besides it's not worth the effort to resize and upload.

Here's a nice little henfish taken on the bluebird day Sunday was. Of course the chrome is dulled by being entirely in my shadow. Notice how it's almost in focus even. At least half the photos my partner shot weren't in focus. I can usually do better than that.

The studd cockfish was in the morning before the sun cut through the fog.

It seemed rather larger up close and personal. Maybe that's because the bugger bite my finger when I tried to remove the fly. Here he is bent in a curve so you won't be impressed by his size. Measured on the straight that guy is about 37".

I continue to be impressed that so many find it quick and easy to post photos, while I stumble around pissing away nearly a half hour to do this.

We hit other fish that didn't stick around long enough for pics, either intentionally or by accident. Superbowl Sunday doesn't get any better, pictures or not. Wonderful day, so much good fly water this season. I hope the rivers are still in good shape this weekend.

Keep catching fish like that and you'll have plenty of reason to practice uploading pics wink

Nice one!

Fish on...

Nice fish! I went fishing Sunday, too. Fine day to be on the water, indeed. I got no love from the fishes, but I did find some solitude. I think that will be my new Super Bowl Sunday tradition.

That fish at the bottom looks really chunky. thumbs

Now, just get that camera guy to take about 3 steps forward and lower down by a couple of feet.

Looks like a killer day- in focus or not.

I love seeing the pictures of adventures but I am not as compelled to document mine like I have in the past which is likely a mistake since, as I age, my memory fades and when a buddy starts a sentence with "You remember the time...?" I just draw a blank.

For me it is about the fish and the moment and with this progression, there seem to be fewer and fewer that I recall.

Thanks for sharing yours Mr SG

JTD,

Ain't that the truth! I have a friend who for years will tell me about fish I caught that I don't remember, occasionally even after his reminding me. I actually appreciate good photos of fish, but the overwhelming majority of the ones I've taken, or in this case taken by a fishing partner, are flawed to the point of underwhelming. So I stopped carrying a camera while fishing for years, including the year I caught my largest steelhead ever. But now these small digital cameras are so easy to tuck in a pocket, it's never been simpler to have one along. Unfortunately my scenery pictures tend to be more interesting than the fish ones.

Hey Staminator, it's so easy even you could leave your drift rod at home!

Like usual, the hard part is luck that favorable water conditions align with weekends. Makes me all the more appreciative of my years on the Skagit. I swear that river has more "in" fishable condition days per month during the winter than most any river in the state.

Come along and I'll take your picture with a fish that won't be too embarrassing.

Stam's in charge of assigning ascots, but he never actually hands them out. Then again, if he did, who'd wear one?

Sometimes the truth hurts. I am definitely not in the running for a FOOTA (fraternal order of the ascot) board member spot, at least not on the basis of having been mean to you.

The shitforbrains comment was a joke, I know there really is nothing resembling matter between your ears.

These are from a couple of weeks ago. But I also had a camera while fishing.

In addition to these 2, I lost one other at the shore. So obviously, I was not able to get a picture of it. But hey, I’m not complaining!
