My girlfriend's timeshare offers bonus weeks every now and again, but with limited timeframes and locations. Had to be used by June 15, and the only choices that came up were Palm Springs and Park City. Never been to either, but we chose PC. As a precaution, I stowed some gear in a fanny pack in my luggage and two travel rods in a short tube.

The short version: there are a lot of trout fishing opportunities within an hour's drive of PC, and the Green River is 3 hours away. I got in a half day of fishing on the Provo River Sunday, and we got up at 4 AM Monday for the drive to Utah's Green River. We managed to book a guide on short notice for a float on the river. Nymphing in the AM and dries in the PM. A mix of 'bows, browns, and a couple cut-bows, with brown trout being the majority.

Just happened to hit a cicada hatch - big ugly bugs larger than grasshoppers, and got lots of action on those.

I'll try and load a couple photos from the trip.

edit: hmmm, I don't see how to add pictures. there's a reason why my posts never have pictures.
