Bruce was the co-author with Les Johnson and Pat Trotter of the Fly Fishing for Pacific Salmon I & II books.

These books are considered by many as the bible in regards to salt salmon flyfishing.

I first met Bruce back in the late 60's. I'd run into him while fishing for resident silvers at Doc's or doing opening day creel checks at a westside c & r lake.
He was always friendly, helpful and willing to share information.

All of us who enjoy flyfishing the sound owe Bruce a big thanks for the knowledge he passed on.

I was sad to read this. Bruce was a good man, never fished with him but when I had my first job at a local marina he would always stop and talk fishing with me, and was very open with his knowledge. He really had the south sound resident coho and sea-run fishing dialed in back in the day. Thanks for passing this on Stonefish, RIP Bruce-
