Cabelas does not have a great selection of salmon-steelhead fishing equipment and gear (especially in bulk)....Is there a store or fishing company/magazine that offers a large selection of tackle, etc.?

Went to the yakima site and there kinda expensive! Am I reading it right? 2.10 for 6 corkies? 100 for 25 bucks? You can get em at Sportco or anywere else for around 15 cents a peice! Am I missing something? Those cone shaped ones are very interesting! I can think of a good use for those!!!

Someone please let me know if Im reading this right. I would think theyed be cheaper through the manf.

Bob, I was looking at the site yesterday and was wondering the same thing. So I sent them an email asking why their prices were 70-100% more expensive than buying them retail. Here's the response I got.

It is very comendable in the manner in which Yakima Bait sells their products. It allows the small time tackle shops to sell the majority of their product and thus make the money as well.

BTW-
You'd all be very surprised what a hundred pack of corkies cost from a standard wholesaler. Any guesses?

A 100 pack of corkies from a wholesaler goes for about $5. (My guess)

I figure they've got to be about $6.00 per 100 pack to the stores, seeing as I buy them for twice that from Swain's (0.12ea or $12.00 for 100), lots of stores like to mark up 100% on small stuff.

Away from specials, around $12 a pack, give or take some small change depending upon who you get them from.

Is that retail or wholesale? I know the wholesale prices are lower than $12.95.

I think the member price at Sportco in Fife is .11 each = $11.00 per 100.
