Fished the Snake below Lower Granite Dam and No steelhead! All boats using all kinds of methods came up empty. Caught one nice Catfish. Fish starting showing on graph just before dark on the move straight to the ladder. Nothing interested in what we had. Water temp. 68 degrees and weather 85 degrees and calm. Water was dirty with about 3 feet visability don't know what from? Will wait until end of October and fish above Asotin or the Clearwater. frown

Asotin is were my grndparents live. I love that town and I learned to fish there. That does get pretty hot in the end of October.
My first year deer hunting we were driving out of Asotin to our spot at o' dark thirty and right inside the city limits we saw 2 does and big 4x3. Isn't it ironic that the buck of my dreams would be inside the town. Oh well, I ended up getting a small 3x2.

Hey Jensenater, any idea how fishing is at the mouth of the Grande Ronde? One of my best buddies went back to full time guiding after taking 5 years off. He's now starting off (the second time around) on the Snake from Oct 1st though Thanksgiving, fishing around the mouth of the Grande Ronde area. He hasn't called me yet to let me know how fishing is, so maybe you can give me some insight on how fishing is around that stretch of the Snake.

I am headed for the Grande Ronde October 17. I hear the river is running 450 cfs and it normally runs 1000 cfs in October. Any reports about the Grande Ronde?
