I don't dare call the thing a cataraft (don't worry you freakin' fanatics). I own a driftboat and want a pontoon boat for occasional use on class 2 and easier water. No lakes, but slow as mud tidewaters. I will mostly use it to get to spots where I'll fish on foot, and probably won't fish much out of the thing. I never plan on standing up in the thing... that's what my drift boat is for! This ain't never gonna be my main ride or replace my drift boat, just an access machine for shuttling across the Deschutes to the "other" side and getting to coastal spots in skinny water.

I weigh 220 lbs, have dark hair, turn ons include hot fish, measurements are thick around the belly :p and was thinking Outcast Pac 9 or Pac 900. If I use this thing maybe a dozen times a year, does it make sense to shell out the extra $400 for the Pac 900 and get the welded seams (Pac 900) instead of stitched seams (Pac 9) on the pontoons? The frames, etc,. between the two seem pretty similar. Are they?

THANKS

Outcast makes an awesome boat. Excellent quality and an excellent design.

The 9 footer is a great choice as it provides more stability then the 8 footer and if you ever wanted to run it down some heavy water you would not have a problem at all.

If you are just putting it through light use the 900 isnt very necassary as the 9 has a 3 yr warranty and it mean my 4+ yrs in selling these boats, I have yet to either model have a pontoon problems.

Spend the extra money you saved on sticking with the 9 instead of the 900 and upgrade and buy the Cataract oars. They make all the differance over those crappy aluminum ones.

Wig,for what you're using you're Outcast for it should work fine, considering you're wide frame you might consider a larger model.

"Freakin Fanatics" rolleyes come on dude!!! it's not like I own a Jet Sled eek

I fish a Cataraft because it's more versital than a drift boat, and because I can fish any and all water conditions, and launch it anywhere.......if this makes me a Fanatic....so be it :p
I've been called worse eek

Remember Friends don't let Friends row Outcasts laugh..........Os
