Hello fellow Americans,

I just wanted to take this moment to introduce myself to you. I have been fishing for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon for 12 years and I started fishing for trout and warmwater fish when I was a young boy. I hope that I can contribute some of my experiences and share some insight. I like to joke around and have fun. I try not to take anything to seriously. I have noticed that some of these topics can get pretty heated and flaming is usually the result. One thing is for sure, and
that is we all feel strongly about fishing. Thats
all I have for now.
wink

United we stand, divided we fall.

Okay, I thought I had posted in the wrong thread (see below) so I deleted my post , but know I know I couldn't possibly have posted in the wrong thread. How did you edit your post without having the "message edited by" thing below your post, smelt? Maybe I'm just seeing things tonight because of my dang ankle? Oh, well, here's my original post, anyway.

"Hey, how come your moniker in your post (EggsGuy)is different than the one shown on the main screen (smeltmyfingerling?)? Anyway, welcome! Just ignore RT and Gooose and they will go away. :p J/K As far as the foam floats go, most of us on this BB affectionately refer to them as "dick floats now." wink Technically they're called dink floats. Apparently these work well with bait in heavier water and will work with jigs. Only thing is, you have to get it up-you need to use enough lead to make it "erect" on the surface of the water. As far as setting it up, I'd thread the dink on first going through the top hole, then through the two hole in the middle, and then through the bottom hole. Then, I'd push it up the line, tie on a snap swivel just below it and attach desired weight slinky/pencil lead to the snap, cut a piece of leader, tie that to the snap, and tie on your jig/hook for bait. You might be able snap on a bunch of split shot below the bobber instead of using the snap/lead, but it would have to be an awful lot of split shot, from my experience. That's if you want it fixed. If you want it sliding, I believe there's foam dink floats for that too. Same setup I would assume only use a bobber stopper above the float and put on a bead between the float and the snap swivel. I'm not a pro bobber fisherman, but did I come close guys? Don't bash me too hard. shocked "

Cool moniker. But it needs a short nick name. Is Smelt' ok? Or Smyfing? smf?

KB, you came close. Hey, are you icing your ankle properly?

I'll let you guys decide the nickname. KB, I never edited my post or had a post on another thread. I guess the swelling from your ankle is spreading. laugh As far as making dink floats "erect", you'd better talk to RT about that one.
I think he has a pill that will take care of that.
eek later. smf

KB, last night I thought about explaining the float tactic but really didn't feel like pecking it out. Thanks for putting in the leg work. :p

As for the description, couldn't have said it better myself! cool

Gooose did you get the rigging down? I'm pullin for ya man!

SMEFLING, welcome aboard and try to keep yourself from reading between the lines. Making assumptions
can get you in shark infested waters!

Smells?Like?...sorry but the heat of the Jig voigin contest has affected my memory...I'll try to remember to write your correct moniker spelling
down for next time. wink Okay back to ....crap I know I wrote something down on paper? It's right there with a reminder to give credt where credit is due to some guy about copyrights? Then there was something about rigging up and humility? Hey there it is over in WhiteDogs bed! Oh crap the thing isn't even readable anymore....gonna have to have a discussion on behaviour?

Oh what the Heck welcome on board.

Gooose laugh
