What would be a fair estimate of return if the Hump was planted with 115,000 steely smolts in ‘99? The catch so far from what I've herd has been limited to a few here and there. Thank you for your input.

If you figure an average 1% return of hatchery steelhead, then 1150 would be the total run size. Now subtract the number of fish caught in the 6 day a week net fishery, and you'll know why there doesn't seem to be many fish around.

Hatcherys returns through the 1990's have been running 1% or less than 1% WIld runs have been at around 3% which for wild fish is the break even point. Would be great to have 6% escapement state wide. Thats the level we had before everything went to hell.
