Doesn't look like there will be any seasons on the Cow or Kal...maybe limited on the Lewis.

Not Good.

The numbers posted by Strike Zone came from the WDFW as reported in The Columbian (Vancouver, WA) newspaper a couple weeks ago. They are the pre-season forecast from WDFW which are based in part on the jack returns from the previous year. So, as depressing as they may be, they're accurate.

The WDFW will be holding a public hearing on Feb 22 at 7:00pm regarding the spring Chinook fishing seasons in SW Washington. The meeting will be at their offices on Grand Ave in Vancouver, WA. They hold these meetings every year. They may propose a closure on the Cowlitz and a limited fishery on the Kalama and NF Lewis. Not good.....

Thanks for the info (as bleak as it may be). It is kind of baffling how the returns are supposed to be so large for the up river fish and so dismal for the lower columbia tributaries. I guess I can only hope that their predictions are wrong for the Cow/Kalama/Lewis for this spring. Thanks again,
Tight Lines!
