I am thinking about buying the Lamiglas x96js 13. It is a 9'6 spinning rod that is rated 6-15lbs. 1/4 to 3/4 oz, fast action, medium rod. Has anyone had any experience with this rod. I want it mainly to fish jigs with but i also want to fish Springers on the Umatilla River with. I want more fight out of my fish. I already have the lami Walleye tournement, Kenia Killer, Medium Heavy baitcaster Rod. I love Lami, but hate there guides. I can buy this rod for $190. Any Info on this rod would be great. Also, anyone out there planning on fishing the Umatilla River for springers this year. ODFW expects twice the run as last year. That would be around 10,000 fish. If that happens it will be smokin hot here in Eastern Oregon. Last year we slayed them. Can hardly wait, count the days. Have a nice day all. Steve

Nice rod... very pretty blank, expecially finished w/ a gold in lay wrap. This rod fishes similar to the GLoomis GL3 ST 1143, not quite, but close. Should have no problems landing springers on it.
I always use Fuji SiC guides on the lighter spinning drift/bobber rods as they are much lighter and don't wear. I also up-grade the handle kits on the Lamiglas rods, a weibe wood insert looks very good with this blank.

If you send me an email I can save you $40 on this and you'll have a much better, high quality custom built rod...

TH just built me a GL3 1143 9'6" G Loomis. His work is impeccable and the rod is a joy to use. I am using it mainly with bobbers and jigs, or bobbers and bait. You can't go wrong with a rod from him. My .02.

St. Croix makes a nice 10 1/2 foot spinning rod that's a nice stick for off the shelf. Goes for $120-$140.

Thank you for your help. I will be trying to get ahold of TH Rods to talk to him about this rod. Steve

This is a great rod. It fishes heavier than its rating. I've landed a bunch of summer kings (12-20lbs) tossing unweighted gobs of eggs in tidewater with this this rod and a shimano 4000.
