Starting to look like it is going to be a great summer run year. Havent actually gone out looking for them yet but the last two times I have been on the sandy I have gotten summers in my Salmon spot. First time in 20 years of fishing this spot that we have caught summers in the deep pool we fish for springers. Hopefully this will keep up, loooking forward to actually hooking them on something besides a salmon rod.

Thanks Firedog. It should be good region wide. I think the early summers over Willamette Falls were in record numbers for the date. Washington rivers, such as the Cowlitz and Kalama, are getting good returns already too; well before the peak time yet. Yeeeeehaaaaaw!

RT, yeah I know the Kalama is having a great run already. I stopped in to talk to the guys at the upper hatchery a few weeks ago after working on my families property on the upper river and they said that this is shaping up to be the best run in quite a few years. They were already recycling fish over a month ago. Looking forward to fishing the Kalama all summer long and hoping they get a decent native run for up above, so I can fish at the house a little. smile

Thanks for the positive outlook guys. Some of us did not have a real successful winter, and are looking forward to another chance. cool
