To everyone that has argued with me and to ALL the sportcasters, writers, etc. who think Clemens should win the Cy Young. Read the article...

Good call, Sparkey laugh

Finally, a sportswriter with a national publication that can finally look at the numbers and realize what a lot of us have known for a long time. Garcia is right there with Tim Hudson as the best young slinger in the game. But, Clemens did win #20 last night, and he'll have to tank his last three starts for anyone else to notice Garcia seriously for the Cy.

The only problem I have with the whole thing is having to pay Freddie #1 starter money. eek

I see another serious payroll decision coming in our future rolleyes

I don't normally stray into non-fishing discussions but I will make an exception.

Personally, I don't think the Mariners care about individual awards. The Cy Young is nice but they're after something bigger. So if Freddie doesn't get the Cy Young, he won't mind, as long as they win it all.

As for The Rocket, take a good long look at those numbers. And then look again. And then look at his age. It might be a very long time before we see another 39 year old power pitcher with those kind of stats. It is quite remarkable. Best of luck to both in the playoffs. It should be some great baseball. Perhaps it will be good enough to take our minds off other, more tragic events in NYC. Maybe just for a little while.
