My wife called me at work Mon. afternoon and informed me that she was taking a friend down to the Cowlitz Tues. morning and if I wanted her to pick up anything special while she was at Sportco. I was speechless, suprised, proud, concerned and insanely jealous all at the same time!! She has never gone fishing without me before and never fished for steelhead.

I think I told her to be careful atleast 20 times between Mon. night and Tues. morning before she left. She fished from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and caught a very nice 6 LB buck around noon. WOOHOO YOU GO GIRL!!

My wife is getting hearty enough to go by herself too.Wow! I don't know if my ego can handle that.Weekend before last she slayed a bunch of fish out on the west end.She didn't need my help in the least bit.First time I could say that.I had way more fun admiring her Than I could ever have fishing.Kinda brought me back to the time when it started coming together.All without the *******'s help too.I don't think I would want to play girls against the guys.Hell I think she understands me a little better now.Still afraid to ask for a spey rod though.

Congrats to her. If she catches one more fish this year, she'll be ahead of me.
