I have been dying to drift the Calawah, but I have heard all sorts of stories about how "bad" it can be. I have been down the Sol Duc from the hatchery down several times at two boards or less. Does any body have ideas, suggestions, comments or recommendations. Bob's out, so possibly a recommended guide for a trip, maybe? I don't want to get in on anybody's secrets, just looking for a change of scenery. Any info would be greatly appreciated. smile

Easy way! But I did learn the hard way on the Ducs hatchery run about 3 or 4 years ago, it was running at about a sliver above one board. Went left where ya go right under the trees. LOL, that was fun/freaky. My buddies theory for going that way was, he saw aluminum!!! My theory was, its insured go for it.

BK, my brother and I also zigged when we should have zagged on the Duc and ended up looking like we were parallel parking our way down through a nasty boulder garden. Just what we needed a little white knuckle action to make it interesting.

Thanks for the notes. BK, I did the same thing on the same split at just under two boards a couple years ago. By the time I was done wrestling my boat through the rocks and over the last fall I just crawled in my boat and thanked the almighty I was floating again. Live and learn. That was a great day for fish though. Nobody else was dumb enough to be on the river.
Bob, let's look at something in March.
Thanks smile
