Fished the Lyre this morning (at county park)...water level is up a bit and clarity is good (2 ft/better)saw one fish (summer) about 6 lbs (taken above 101 bridge.

.........WARNING.......
Talked to a guy who got kicked out of the private campground (East Lyre River Rd)...evidently not just him but all (fishermen) who were not camping, when he offered to pay the owner said he'd rather they just leave! (explains why the county park was full)

Don't be surprised on your next visit if the welcome mat is not out!!

I was told by a friend last year that they charge $17.00 a day whether you camp or fish, can't confirm this, just what I was told.

If you're talking about the Lyre River Park, the area near the mouth of the river, I was camping there between Xmas and New Year's. At least at that time, drive in fishermen were welcomed, and there were plenty. The sign at the office said $7 per day. Maybe something weird has happened just in the last week.

From what I understand, there is no "owner" any longer. Jim, the original owner, sold it to a management company a few years back. The company has a manager live onsite. The current guy is Tim, who began in March, and he was pretty cool when we were there.
