I fished with "Piscatorial Pursuits" last weekend and I lost 8 fish in a row. Then Bob proceded to introduce me to the 'Oar of Freindship'!!!!!

You're stretching it just a little Special I only whacked across the eyes after you put out the plugs and didn't think to click the reel over until you were out of line on the spool

Bob,
"Special" really needs to be whacked up side the head sometimes. Yesterday he asked if I would take him fishing and row my boat all day to get some practice before Kent lets him use his boat. Well things were going good until we started pluging, needless to say I was back on the sticks in a hurry! Then "Wham" fish on. When we saw that we had a big native buck on, I told "Special" that I would row over to the gravel bar. Then the fish started to run and "Special" lossened the drag all the way and then realized it was to loose, He then cranked it down all the way and "Pow" fish gone with my favorite plug. The only saving grace was it had a single barbless hook on it. Well I think that "Special's" new name should be "AKA CRACKER". This is not the first time that this has happened.

Didn't you know that Ryan got the name Special because he rides the short yellow bus to school. You must be a brave and patient man to allow Ryan on the working end of the sticks.

Ryan probably deserved the whack between the eyes that Bob gave him.

That's funny ... on our imaginary trip, he talked about sculpins. He loves those exotics

That's funny you mention that, Bob, he's one of those fish bio students, ya know, he's always talking about bass body composition being superior to that of a steelhead and how he thinks, in his half-brained opinion, that a bass is the ultimate freshwater gamefish. Come on Sparkey, quit watchin Orlando Wilson and get wit da program! *JK, dude, see ya Sunday night if I don't make it into the shop first!*

As a former "UW Fish Student", and the current Sr. Sys Admin for UW Fisheries, don't be dissin' Spankey...er...Sparkey! We have a lot of fish mounts on our building walls, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bass, let alone a UW class on bass.

You gotta admit though, that any time your college class consists of lingcod fishing, laying out gillnets, trawling, or playing in the salmon ponds, it's just pretty dang cool!

My favorite was to take the UW Research boat out in to Lake Washington and do "fishing research" on the sockeye!

Heh, "research". Love that word!

Playing around in the salmon ponds was one of the best classes I ever had. Talk about "hands on experience". If any one thinks that they are really manly, try wrestling 20 pound chinook for a couple of days strait. Talk about carpal tunnel!!!

We do not talk about bass and carp much, Thank God!!...but we do talk about pollock and sockeye all the time. It all correlates to the commercial value of the fish.

Leave it to Special to take a perfectly good line of humor and make it serious.

You got away easy SPARKY. If a guy I'm fishing with boots that many fish, he gets the oar on the other end of his frame. After he gets tossed out of the boat, you can't tell if he is a lollipop, or a Thill River Master Float.
