What's happening on those clack? Has anyone been up catching those "floating egg factories" yet? I've never actually been up and fished that area yet but it would be nice to fish on some old springers and get some fresh eggs!

C'mon now there has to be someone on this board that fishes up there. I'm just curious of anyone is having much success up there?

Hi Keith, I fish the Clackamas a lot, just not up that high. I have been on vacation the last week and a half, and have no idea whats happening on the Clackamas since I left. I am planning on fishing the S. Santiam on the 4th, I think it is a better bet this time of year.

Just wanted to hear you beg a little.jk

Been fishing the River Mill Dam area for the last four days. Slayin' Springers! There are thousands of fish in that area. Everything Ive caught was still in good shape. From bright to just starting to get that copper tint. Meat still cutting from red to orange.

Here is the catch. They are only bitting hardware and you need heavy hardware to get down in front of them.

Nordic jigs have been the trick. Most people will say they are for snagging, but if you work them properly, you can avoid the foul hooks. Throw em up river and let them flutter down stream. Dont yank your rod on the retrieve and you wont foul hook.

I fished two days straight with drift gear and came up empty handed, while the guy next to me was using the Nordics and hooking in the jaw.

Fished yesterday. One nate, one bright hatchery hen, both nailed it in the jaw. 14# Foul hooked one fish and did not play him.
Same results on Sunday. 18#ers

Thursday 30# Nate. Beautiful fish.

Green is the color for hens.

Good luck. If you need more info:
