I am GOING to buy the new "wiffle spool" Currado. The help I need is where in the greater Seattle area is the best deal on these, the best deal I've seen is around $160. Please give me your feedback. Thank you

Auburn Sport and Marine has them for $149. I looked at one there yesterday. Thinking about getting one myself, as metal reels freeze my hand in winter. I'm kinda leery about the SF model getting wet drag washers though.

If a shop is selling them for $160, they are ripping you off. They MSRP by Shimano for the Curado BSF is $149.99.

$149 is probably the best you'll find. They're that price at Outdoor Emporium and G.I. Joe's as well

G.I. Joe's give members of the NW Steelheaders a 10% discount on all purchases (except sale items). So make that $134 and change for the Curado BSF.

Listen to Bardo and wait for one on ebay. You'll save tons of money. I'll never buy another reel in a store again.

So those of you that don't support your local fishing stores by buying on e-bay and Bass Pro Shops, where do you go to ***** when your reel malfunctions and you need it to fish the next day? Reels have an extremely low markup. I called Bass Pro Shops and asked for a current report for the Skykomish River and guess what, they didn't know. Get a clue and shop your local [good] shops more before you run them out of business to save a little money.

If you would kindly reread my post I said GOOD local fishing store, that does not include Walmart, Kmart, etc. Since you asked the question I buy 99.9% of my gear at Ted's in Lynnwood.

I paid less than $149 for my curado at Salmon Bay Tackle in Ballard. Great little indi shop although he needs to stock up on tackle a bit for us gear guys.

Oh yeah, he also has a ****load of the white backer road we've all been looking for.

Bighook.com $139 plus about $5 shipping. No sales tax. I also give plenty of money to the local shops....especially if they are feeding me information.

No offense Bardo, but I don't think I own a Shimano that *hasn't* gone belly up and required a rebuild at the factory! That includes both spinnig and baitcasing reels.

Oh wait, that's not ture - I got a brand new Curado BSF that's still in the box and never used. Even so, it's probably only a matter of time before it dies on me! Heck, I should just send it back now so I'm prepared! eek

Shop at Ted's and support a local Kick-Arse store!
