Finally got the fish of a lifetime. I am looking for a taxidermist to do a replica mount. Must do flawless work and be located in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

i use dave miskinis in shelton . his # is 360-426-2894. you need to get the fish to him right away. it can be frozen for a few days without hurting it too much, but the best way to keep it would be to lay it flat and cover it with shaved ice. ice cubes might make little indentations. dave does nice fiberglass repos. if you want to check out his work, i could email you a picture of a 100 pound king, 42 pound steelie , or a 25 pound coho that he did for me.

Hey P if I were you I would call David Campbell when he is done with your fish it will look as good as it did when you landed it. He can be reached at 253-847-6011 but im not sure if he does replicas though. If he does you will be VERY happy with his work!!!

Hey Paranoid give this guy a call. He does the best reproductions I have ever seen. Most everything you see at the sportsman show in Puyallup he does. His name is Luke Christopher Filmer. His number is 253-584-2817. I have one on my wall (27lb) and it is beautifullllll!

I know they usually charge by the inch. I heard of a guy this summer who wanted to mount a king & the cost was $25.00 per inch. The fish was over 40 inches so you're looking at more than a thousand bucks. Do you guys know any of these taxidermists price ranges? Some may think the more you pay the better quality, but that isn't always the case. I've seen some awesome mounts in the $12-$15 per inch range. I like the ones mounted on a piece of drift wood. They look better than just hanging on the wall.

$25/inch seems high! I have heard $12-$15/inch. I have a 41"x24" buck that I need a replica done but I don't want to spend $1000 unless I can be assured of absolute perfection and satisfaction.

I decided to go with Luke Filmer. I was very impressed with his work. $18/inch and he hand paints the scales. Thanks to all who recommended him.

Luke is doing my fish. Without a doubt, the most beautiful work I have ever seen in a reproduction.

Good choice.
