This will give hime all the daily monthly info and the all the damn
dams on the
Columbia.

Better hurry the game departments estimates are out of line I believe.
Forget
400,000 Chinook Sp across Bonneville. They will be lucky to see
100,000.+

Note April 4th count just over 5000. Good luck catching.

Am I reading this right

Last Year April 04 6000+ went over Bonneville
This Year April 04 908

If this is right.. there should be no sport fishery.. there should have been no commercial fishery and FWdepartments have no reliable way to forecast runs!! Therefore allowing any harvest or incidental "take" on listed species fishery...

Rob,

Alot of fish movement over dams has to do w/water temps, last year the water was lower and warmer, therefore, more fish crossed earlier. This is the case at Willamette falls also. As water temps come up more fish will cross. Also, they probably will be more spread out this year too.

To hell with it, I'm just going to fish bass! wink

I got a springer fillet on the BBQ right now. I got lucky this afternoon smile

I read that WDF&W has a tangle net fishery in the Columbia which may continue through April. It is supposed to capture 3000 more steelhead to be jaw tagged. I don't know why they just didn't tag 3000 of the 20,000 already handled in the commercial fishery. I think that the news release is on their website. This could be another reason that counts are down.
